- regular topographic and bathymetric surveys,
- remote video monitoring of Dubai beaches,
- sediment sampling and analysis,
- nearshore directional wave and current recordings and
- measurement exercises at selected locations using ADCP equipment.
A hydrographic LIDAR survey of the entire Dubai coastal and offshore zones was carried out in October 2007.
More instrumentation is to be added to the already existing, during this phase of the project, so that is possible to have a better coverage and understanding of the nearshore sea conditions.
The same area extent is covered during this programme, from the Abu Dhabi border in the South to Al Mamzar lagoon in the north, from approximately +4m DMD (Dubai Municipality Datum) onshore to 10 nautical miles offshore.
